what is this?
this is where i keep my code. it's just a git server, not a forge or a social network, just a place to host repositories. you can browse the code, clone whatever you want, and that's pretty much it.
i've never really understood why hosting git repositories needs to involve so much more than git itself. i don't need activity feeds, reaction buttons, project boards, or notifications to manage my code. i just want somewhere to put it.
why not use a forge?
honestly, i don't need one. most of my projects are things i work on alone, and git already handles pretty much everything i need from version control. i like keeping things separate. i'm not against more complicated software when there's a reason for it. for a project with a large team, a forge can be useful, but i am not a large team, its just me. i just don't need all of that for my own repositories. that's really all it is.
getting the code
if you want something, clone it.
git clone git@hachem.wtf:repository
you can also browse the repositories here if you don't feel like cloning anything.
sending patches
if you want to contribute, send me a patch over email. i use git's own tools for this, so there's no pull request interface or anything like that.
git format-patch main git send-email --to=im@hachem.wtf *.patch
i'll have a look and apply it if i want to merge it. if you've never sent patches over email before,
git format-patch and git send-email are the things to look into.
